How to prepare for Gate 2016

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) , is getting more and more importance as the PSUs started their recruitments based on the GATE exam. In the total applicants, 60% of them apply for higher studies such as M.Tech, M.E from a recognised university with scholarship. The rest of 30% is aiming at PSUs. But, thing is that, only 50% of the former and 40 % the latter go for a serious preparation.

When thinking for the preparation, there come two methods of coaching. One is self-coaching and the other is join a coaching centre. If you have joined a coaching centre, then they will provide you the study materials, preparation tips and all. They will guide you the path you have to follow. But, in a coaching institute, they are giving the tips in general; which is applicable to all types of candidates. They are not giving individual attention, like based on one's strengths and weakness they are not providing individual guidance.

In self-coaching, you are the one who decides the path you have to follow, the time that can be allotted for each subject based on your own strengths and weakness, and the time table for study. If you can stick to a study plan without any deviation , then you can go for a self-coaching plan. And, if you need to be motivated ,and guided by anyone to keep on your track, then it is better to join any institute.

for self coaching, first you have to make a study plan. I will  give in detail about the study plan, important topics, tips for exam etc on the following posts. I will also give subjectwise preparation tips and main topics with solved questions, from the areas that are frequently asked. Please get connected....
The imporatant steps for self coaching
  1. Make a study plan
  2. Understanding the syllabus and exam pattern.
  3. subjectwise analysis.
  4. give importance for the subjects which have more weightage (which can be understood by analysing previous question papers)
  5. practice more question papers
  6. Practice mock tests
